Ancien relais de poste, le bâtiment fut transformé en relais pour voyageurs. En 1818 il prend le titre d'hôtel et se modernise. Situé juste en face des fameuses Hospices de l'hôtel Dieu de Beaune il est devenu le lieu incontournable pour tous les amateurs de monuments historiques
