Les Gîtes du Somail are in the authentic hamlet "Le Somail", created in the 17th century at the same time as the Canal du Midi (UNESCO). With its harbor in the middle of the lands, its restaurants at the edge of the water, its barge-grocery store, its large bookstore of 50 000 old books and its five historical monuments, this hamlet is unique in France!
From the accommodations, there are many paths for hiking and biking on the edge of the Canal du Midi, surrounded by vineyards and wild olive trees. The area offers beautiful natural sites, rivers for swimming, long sandy beaches, and saltwater lakes where to navigate and observe birds. The region is also rich in historical Cathar sites, Cistercians and Romans.
Finally, the gastronomy is in the spotlight with exceptional local products: organic wines, lucques olives, black truffles, fleur de sel, fragrant rice, saffron ... and we will offer you our famous scrubland honey selected by the Chefs at several local gourmet restaurants.
Thanks to the protection of the mountains, the sun is present more than 330 days a year!

What will you choose: A duplex house with patio, a charming suite with terrace and veranda, a studio decorated like an houseboat, a room on garden with a terrace, or booking all the domain?
Whatever your choice, each accommodation has its parking, a separate entrance, a private terrace without vis-à-vis and high-end equipment!
The accommodations are spread around a flower garden with a heated pool lined with tropical plants. At your disposal, a bar area, a barbecue area, a relaxation area and self-service bike loan!
And as we want to offer you easy holidays where you will not lose your first day looking for everything, we provide a free concierge service to advise you on restaurants, shops, museums, events most beautiful souvenir photos. We can also give you descriptions of our favorite tours by car, on foot, by bike, by boat, by houseboat or by sea kayak!
We can even organize tastings of olive oils, truffles and wine for you!
