Blue Heron Cottages in San Diego offer pet-friendly vacation rentals that are perfect for travelers looking to explore this coastal paradise with their furry friends. Located just a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk from Dog Beach, one of the most popular dog-friendly beaches in San Diego, Blue Heron Cottages is a haven for pet owners. The cottages are well-appointed and feature a 525 sq.ft. floor-plan, accommodating up to four adults. As a pet-friendly property, Blue Heron Cottages understands the importance of being responsible pet owners. Guests are expected to follow the pet policy, which includes picking up after their pets immediately and not leaving their pets unattended in common areas. All guests are required to honor the "Friendly Pet" zone to ensure the safety of all, including the four-legged friends. The courtyard at the back of the cottages is fenced and designated as a pet-friendly area. However, if a pet isn't socialized or is aggressive, they must be on a leash and secured at all times. If the pet is anti-social, guests are expected to inform other guests and maintain control of their dog. Couch covers are provided to ensure cleanliness and protect the furniture. Guests are allowed to bring up to four dogs for a one-time fee. Any damage caused by pets will be the full financial responsibility of the guest. The property is professionally treated once a month for fleas, ticks and other insects. Although these substances are safe to use around pets, it's best to keep them away from the treated areas immediately after application. Guests are additionally expected to provide ample food and water for their pets and not leave them unattended for any undue length of time. Maintaining cleanliness of litter boxes, sleeping and feeding areas is also a must. Pets should not engage in behaviors or create excessive noise that disturbs neighbors, such as barking, jumping or running. In case of an emergency situation with a pet, where the guest cannot be reached, Blue Heron Cottages or their agents may contact the local animal control authority and assist in entering the guest's cottage. If it becomes necessary for the pet to be boarded, any and all costs incurred will be the sole responsibility of the guest.
