What is the history of the property? It was an ancient farmhouse of the mid-eighteenth century, oil was produced from olives in the mill, the typical white wine of Syracuse was produced from the grapes in the millstone, there were stables, peasant houses, warehouses, the house of the oven for make bread. On the first floor "the noble floor" was the owner's apartment, a Baron who came to check the harvest.
What was the era and/or the architectural style in which the property was built? The farmhouse was built around 1750. The typical architectural style of Sicilian country farms. The large stone walls, door frames, windows and arches built with exposed stone, a beautiful terracotta-coated staircase leads to the first floor.
Is the property surrounded by other historic buildings? no we are isolated in the countryside and surrounded by a luxuriant citrus grove
Has restoration work taken place? A major restoration was done in 2010, maintenance work every year.
Has the property received any certifications for its historical status? by the Superintendency for Cultural Heritage of Siracura it is identified as an asset to be protected for the historical memory of rural sicilian culture
