Hotel im Wasserturm is a truly unique hotel located in the heart of Cologne. The hotel is housed in what used to be a water tower built in the 19th century, but because it fell into disuse soon after, it was turned into a hotel. It features 88 unique and stylish rooms, a rooftop restaurant that offers stunning views over the city, as well as meeting rooms, making it ideal for all kinds of travellers.
This is the first hotel built from ice. It was created in 1989 and it is located at the village of Jukkasjärvi – 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, next to the shore of Torne, the biggest river of Sweden. The visitors can indulge in luxurious accommodation not only in cold, but also in hot rooms. The average temperature of Icehotel is -5 C\/21 F, while outdoor temperatures range between 20 C\/68 F in the summer and -40 C\/-40 F during the winter.
